Induction evaluation

Before starting my product I had to take pictures of my model to put on the front cover, Lauren was my model. At first I found it really difficult to use the camera and to get it into focus, we used manual focus because it offers and gives us more control over the camera, I’ve learn that using the zoom and focus enabled us to have a clearer and better picture and lets us choose the picture e.g. head and shoulders instead of us having to move. T-stance in photography helps to get a better picture it is where you put your feet in a T shape and lean back. You get a better picture and it looks more professional. I’ve learnt that portrait and landscape give different pictures; portrait pictures are used for magazines and articles whereas landscape is used for taking pictures of still life. We used lighting in our pictures; we made sure the lighting was on the right hand side because it gave better quality to our pictures. I didn’t really concentrate on the background too much, there is one with a tree in it but that’s all really, the background doesn’t look too bad but however it’s not really in focus anyway. We did another photo-shoot and this time we focused on using more effects, for example we used the line of thirds because this draws attention to the focal point which is Lauren, if her eyes are above the third line this give interpretations that she has power and authority alternatively if her eyes are below the third lines then this implies she doesn’t have power. Also we used different lighting to give different effects however in some picture the lighting went really bad for example having too much lighting can distort and make your pictures go really white and not very clear.

I used a lot of tools on Photoshop for example I used the tool to add different shapes to add my text onto, different effects on my text giving them shadows and making them look 3D. I found using Photoshop quite difficult to use considering that I have never used it before, I found it hard editing and adding text and making it the right size. My text, at first I found it difficult to control my texts because I haven’t used Photoshop before however I managed to get the hang of it. I also added effects and drop shadows to my text because it makes it look more professional and more modern. I did this by using the ‘fx’ tool and using the different buttons to control and change my texts. We have downloaded numerous fonts from a website called ‘dafont.com’ we downloaded these fonts because it gave us a better variety of choices; we choose different fronts for different effects on the audience. I would improve my front cover by using the texts I’ve downloaded to give different effects and interpretations on the audience. On my product its strengths was the picture that I took because it’s a lot better than the ones I took during on in the day, it looks professional and I’m proud of how it looks considering I’ve never used a proper camera before. If I could change my front cover I would try and make it look a little bit more realistic to one you may find on the high-street.
